Review of Chapters 5 and 6

This week we will complete our work on Chapters 5 and 6. I know that this material has been difficult, but I hope that the casebook material and our classes have helped to illuminate both the common law and statutory remedial concepts, rules and practices that we have discussed. I have some suggestions for your work in this area.
First and most important, posing for yourself hypothetical situations and then providing an analysis of both common law and UCC Article 2 responses to those situations will help sharpen your understanding of contract remedies law. If that process raises questions you are unable to answer, please use the forum to raise those questions with me and with your classmates. Discussion on the Forum has been meager, but, I think, useful thus far. From this moment through to the Fall Term exam, the Forum should be of special value to all of us.
Second, you need to provide for yourself an outline of remedies, just as you needed to prepare an outline of consideration, promissory estoppel and other material we studied in the first four chapters of the casebook.
Third, you may find a slideshow presentation linked to this blog to be of some help - but it doesn’t eliminate the need for you to go through the exercise of preparing something similar for yourself. The one linked to this blog is by no means complete. It does, however, provide a decent framework for further development of a review of chapters 5 and 6.
