Who can be in SPFTY?
Any jewish teen in grades 9 - 12 in the greater Springfield, MA area.
What is SPFTY?
SPFTY is a locally-based youth group, which is part of a national youth group, NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth). NFTY is subdivided into regions, about a dozen or so around the country. NFTY-NE (NFTY - Northeast), the region in which SPFTY is located, is made up of the New England states, up-state New York, and even parts of Canada. SPFTY participates in events at the local level, like sleepovers, the regional level, like conclavettes (weekend events), and one on the national level, NFTY Convention.
Where is SPFTY located?
SPFTY is based in Springfield, Massachusetts at Sinai Temple (a reform congregation), but anyone in the area can join SPFTY.
When is SPFTY active?
All year round! Although, events do die down over the summer, there are still one or two.
Why join SPFTY?
What do you mean 'why'?! Because it's so much fun! SPFTY is an organization in which teens feel comfortable. Life, no matter how bad it may seem, is always better when at an event.
How can I be a part of SPFTY?
Contact us. We will send you some forms to fill out, then you're part of SPFTY! You will be updated as to what events are coming up and all of the latest news. Note: there is a membership fee be paid toward the beginning of the year. Individual events may also cost a separate fee.
